Who doesn't love a pine forest! Recently I photographed my first engagement shoot at Kuitpo Forest. If you haven't been there before it needs to be on your to do list in Adelaide's Fleurieu Peninsula! What a stunning location, so woody and green and very dreamy.

I've told my husband we need to take our anniversary photos there ;) Kuitpo Forest would have to be one of my fave spots for a photography session at this moment in time.

Below I have posted a few images from an engagement session held for a stunning couple Michelle and Martino. I had a ball photographing these two. They made my time as a photographer for their session very relaxed and comfortable...thanks guys!

This little project of mine was inspired by a verse in the Bible found in Galations 5:13 'You were called to FREEDOM...'

We found a lovely little spot in Mount Compass for the idea I had visualised in my mind. The children really enjoyed getting involved in the project. Jeremiah was my assistant for this session. He certainly gave his assistance especially when he wasnt happy with how Jazmin was posing and holding the bird, he even then wanted to go behind the camera and have a go at posing Jazmin and taking some shots. I think he did well (the close up image of Jazmin looking intently at the bird was the shot he took and posed). I thoroughly enjoyed this project and now have sooooo many other projects that were inspired by this shoot!!! EEEEk!! Not sure if I will get to all of them, but all the ideas have been written down in a little 'project' book of mine. We will see.

First off, HAPPY NEW YEAR! Wishing all our clients and families, helpers and friends a Happy and Safe 2016. Last year held a lot of changes not only in my family but also my business. As you already may be well aware, we made the big move to South Australia, relocating from sunny Queensland. But earlier in 2015 we also moved house in Queensland. Twice I have had to uproot my family and business and start over again in just one year! What an adventure :) and thats the way I like to look at it! We are now happily settled in Mount Compasss, South Australia and I am looking forward to creating more reminiscent images in 2016.

Below is a throwback to some images taken in November/December 2015. A collaboration with Deb Elton Photography, a fellow photographer and best friend. We decided to collborate for our Christmas Minis in 2015, it was hard work but fun too!

With the big move to South Australia from Brisbane, Queensland there were alot of sad 'see you laters'. And I say 'see you laters' because as a christian I know I will see them again if not on this earth, in heaven, by God's grace! We left family and close friends behind. But have been blessed to also come down to close friends and family in South Australia. It was a very sad 'see you later' to me dear friend Tatum. We have known each other for over 10 years now and our friendship blossomed so wonderfully over the years. We shed our tears, shared some of our deepest thoughts and made wonderful memories! Before we left I made it my priority to capture Tatum with her beautfiul family before we left for South Australia. Below is one of the images (more to follow). Miss you Tatum! xxxx God willing we will see each other again soon.

Dont you just love finding hidden gems in your local area. We moved to Mount Compass, South Australia quite a few weeks ago and have found some wonderful gems! One being the Mount Compass wetlands. A lovely spot to take the children for a walk. I came here with the children and of course brought my camera with me, as I was sooo desirous to take a few photos. I had my camera packed up since we moved, it was great to get it out again!

These images were taken early evening, it got cold quite quickly too! My oldest son, Jeremiah really enjoyed picking the wild flowers for the shoot. He gets quite enthused when anything creative comes up....hmmmm, I wonder who he takes after?

Jazmin of course loved the posing side of the shoot. She was doting over Jeremiah for most of the session which was so nice to see and Jeremiah didn't seem to mind either. All in all a great session with my children which can be a rarety for all us photographers out there trying to photograph their own children (can anyone else relate?) ha!

I'm hoping I will get the same mood next time I need my little helpers infront of the camera again!

So its been a month or so since we made the BIG move from Brisbane, Queensland to Mount Compass, South Australia. Notice the capitals in big? Well I must say it was a tremendous effort but a worthwhile one.

You may ask why the big move from Sunny Queensland with so much to offer to the dry and cold state and some call it the hole in a hole (cant say I can agree with the whole 'hole' thing).

We made the move for a few reasons, but some very important ones.

My little family is pretty settled in our home. The children are enjoying the country school they attend. My husband has brought his business down here too www.allthingsroofing.com.au

I had an image in mind to post on Facebook to say good bye to my Queensland clients before we made the move down to South Australia. But I didnt get a chance with all that was involved with the move. I managed to do it in the second week after our move...yay! My husband drove me to Myponga Beach (about 35min from Mount Compass) to take the image I had in mind. Myponga Beach has a couple of great hilly dirt roads which is what I had in mind for my 'goodbye' image.

And this is what I pictured. The children with their luggage packed, backs to me facing the dirt road to signify a new journey that is about to begin. Their backs to the camera to show we're leaving a place. The sun rising to show a new day, a new beginning. I am happy with the result. Love my children for being so so patient with me.

'Every girl is a princess to somebody'

Not sure where the above quote came from but I thought it was fitting for the latest shoot I had with an adorable little girl, Seanna.

Seanna is my friends daughter. And since she was over one afternoon I couldnt help but dress her up in a princessy kind of way and take a few photos.

Who doesnt like dressing up like a princess? I know I still do. The other day I was thinking about getting a few images of my daughter and me in some princessy outfits. I have seen some images around of mums and daughters in such dresses. I will have to give it a go before my daughter grows up....just a bit excited..much!
